Keep track of controls, tasks, and documents from the Compliance page
In NorthGRC, you can view which tasks and documents are related to main sections, sub-sections, and controls for a specific standard from the Compliance page.
You can select the standard you want to view from the dropdown menu:

For each standard, the structure within the Compliance module is set up as follows:
- Main Section
- Sub sections
- Controls
- Sub sections

This structure is based on the framework of ISO 27002:2022 and is a standard feature within the system. Controls do not necessarily have to be linked to sub-sections; they can also be directly associated with main sections.
Controls, Tasks, and Documents in Compliance
You can always distinguish between controls, documents, and tasks by their icons.

By clicking on the three dots on the right side of a main section or sub-section, you have the option to add tasks, documents, and controls. You can either create new items or add existing ones to the selected section:

If you choose to add an existing control, task, or document, you will have the option to link to existing elements in the system:

Elements directly related to a sub-section will appear on the bar:

If you expand the sub-section, you will be able to see the documents and tasks related to the controls:

Tasks and documents that are directly related to a sub-section will appear in the same way as controls, but with their respective icons:

In this case, the different icons help distinguish between the elements, making it easier to differentiate them.
Relations Hierarchy
Elements related to each other create a relationship hierarchy, which can be expanded to view the connections between controls, documents, and tasks.
If you click on the colored bar to the left of the control, the hierarchy will expand, allowing you to see the relationships between controls, documents, and tasks:

And this is how the hierarchy might look:

The hierarchy is a great way to keep track of whether you need to complete tasks or approve documents related to your controls and standards. Furthermore, as you can see in the image, tasks related to the documents associated with the control are also displayed. You can also check their status.
If you click on a document or a task in the hierarchy, it will open, and you can edit it.
Tasks and documents help determine the status color of the control, and ultimately, the status of the sub-section and the main section.
You can read more about the status colors and what they mean here.
Control filtering
On the compliance page, you can also filter your controls so that you only see those that match the filter you have applied.
You can find the filter in the top right corner of the page:

As you can see in the image, you can filter by the status of the controls. Simply uncheck the ones you do not wish to see.
If you want to see all controls in the system without them being organized under sections and subsections, you can click on "Controls" in the compliance submenu:

Here, you will see all controls in the system. Just like on the Compliance page, you can filter the controls by their status and sort them by tags:

Additionally, you will find a search field where you can look up specific controls:

The search field looks for the control names and the descriptions within the controls. If you open a control, click on "Edit," and then scroll down a bit, you will find the description field:
